MULTATECH designed the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems to support Parkland Hospital's new Central Utility Plant (CUP) building. The mechanical design included new HVAC systems with chiller, boiler, generator, electric and control rooms; refrigerant room exhaust and ventilation system for the chiller room; and chilled and heated water piping. The electrical design included CUP 480/277 and 208/120 Volt normal and essential power systems for CUP equipment; coordination with greater than 480 Volt designers; lighting, controls and power; specifications for lightning protection; and rough-in for IT, communications and security systems, as well as an empty conduit system. The plumbing design included potable water systems; storm and overflow drainage; sanitary waste and vent; a compressed air system; and natural gas P&ID drawings. MULTATECH is also providing construction administration services. The MEP sustainable features included HVAC with economizers, lighting controls for reduced lighting power and CO2 monitoring for outside air reduction.
